How do I add additional admins in HI, even if it is temporary to cover for vacations?
Look at this KB article about Customer Administration. Express customers can see a detailed video of the process in the Introduction to the ServiceNow Express page of the Express Support site.
What applications or plugins do I have?
Look at Applications and Plugins Included with a Subscription in the Product Documentation (the example here is for the Istanbul release).
Can we clean up the database, and if so, how?
ServiceNow instances can be reset to their out-of-the-box configuration through a process called "zBoot." When an instance is zBooted, the corresponding database is cleared of all customer data. To request a zBoot for a production instance, please open an incident. For non-production instances, please refer to Requesting a non-production instance reset (zBoot).
How do I delete the demo data?
For Enterprise, you use the Service Catalog to remove demo data. Read Requesting Demo Data Removal. In Express, starting with Istanbul, demo data is kept to a minimum and can be deleted manually.
How do I export the database?
Customer records and configurations can be exported in a variety of ways, as explained in Import and Export Resources. You can also access the ServiceNow Documentation and search for "data management," and then filter by the release version.
How is my data secured in the Cloud?
ServiceNow uses a number of technologies to secure your data in the Cloud. Look at the Enterprise Cloud page on the ServiceNow web site, and click the Security and Compliance tab toward the bottom of the page.
Where are ServiceNow datacenters located? What happens if a datacenter has a problem?
ServiceNow has data centers in every region of the world. Data is replicated in near real-time within the same geographic location. For more information, read the Advanced High Availability Architecture white paper.
How can I back up and restore my instance?
ServiceNow does backups automatically. Read the Instance Backup and Recovery article. More details about the automatic backup process are available in the Advanced High Availability Architecture white paper
What can I do with my sub-production instance?
Your sub-prod instance is a fully functional ServiceNow instance which you can use to familiarize yourself with features, or test specific configurations before applying them on the production instance.
How do I troubleshoot issues? How do I improve the performance of my instance?
In-platform diagnostics (e.g. Transaction Log, Stats, Performance Homepage) can be used to troubleshoot issues on your instance. Detailed information can be found on the Product Documentation site under Platform Performance. Standard IT tools and techniques can also be used to analyze and solve network problems between client machines and the ServiceNow instance (e.g. firewalls, spam filters).
