The Behaviour:
options.no_readable_journal_field_message = options.no_readable_journal_field_message || gs.getMessage("No readable comment field");
Solution:
Additional comment is not captured in the Activity filter.
go to the task table level and look at that comment field.

Hi,
Question on this one - What is the resolution if the user is someone without access in to the Platform UI (an end user with only portal access)?
While you can impersonate the user and use ?.do to access the Platform UI they have now access to tickets in the Platform UI so can not adjust the setting.
