Brainstorming: How to get around mandatory fields

Hello Community, I am making an order guide for new hire accounts.
At the bottom of the order guide, it ask, "Will the new hire need any additional application access?"
and the hiring manager can opt in for whatever is listed there. On the order guide for whatever they opted in for the form for that application is in the next step. But it ask for a "Name" (reference) and its mandatory. Since this is a new hire the account isnt made in AD so there is no name in ServiceNow yet. Here is my though process?
1.) Is there a way I can get around the mandatory field? (I used Ignore Mandatory Evaluation and it's not working (I have a SN case))
2.) Do I make the "name" field non-mandatory on that form? I dont really want to do that.
3.) Can I make a fake user profile and have it in place as a strawman?
Any ideas from the community??

I don't think I understand the scenario. Is the required Reference variable on your order guide? If so, can't you just change it to a single-line text variable?

We encountered a similar case with my client where the new hire record or name didn’t exist. In this situation, you can use another name variable on the order guide and pass it to the catalog item. Additionally, it's important to educate your agents on how and where to check the username before creating it in AD/SN.
