Hello All,
Requirement - Have two different advisory boards to discuss different aspects of same change requests.
for eg- CAB1 & CAB2
So question - Is it possible to configure in such a way that same change request (agenda item) should get approve/reject from two different CAB meetings one after another. Currently what is happening once change gets approve/reject from one CAB1 meeting its showing in another CAB2 meeting as agenda item in change workbench but does not allow to act upon it (approve/reject buttons are missing).
Would appreciate suggestion on this situation how to achieve it.
Thank you !

I don't think this is possible. I am also not sure how this would ultimately work. If both CABs vote, you could have conflicts. If both approve or reject fine, but what if one CAB approves and the other rejects? Is it rejected or approved? Ideally, all take holders discuss the pros and cons at one time and a conclusion is gathers together. Is the reason for the two CABs the time of day or some other reason they couldn't be combined?

Hi Jeff, Thanks for the response.
The idea of having two CABs is to discuss two different aspects of change request like CAB1 will treat as Technical Advisory board and other CAB2 will be as Change advisory board.
They wanted to schedule/view their def/meeting separately in CAB workbench.
i also have the same doubt as you noted and will both CABs be possible in single CAB module in order to act on same requests or do need to design similar module for technical advisory board..?
Appreciate you response.

Have you tried using Change Approval Policies? You can configure them to request two group approvals in the authorize state. Than if the Change is approved in CAB1 by CAB1 Approval Group, you will still see approve/reject buttons in CAB2 if you belong to CAB2 Approval group. The Change will not move to scheduled state once both group approvals are finished.
- Define 2 CAB Approval Definitions via Change > Change Policy > Approval Definitions
- Go to Change > Change Policy > Change Approval Policies > Normal Change Policy.
- Configure the decision related list to have two decision, own return CAB1 Approval Definition as answer and the other one to return CAB2 Approval Definition as answer
Please note that Change Approval Policies have been introduced with Madrid Release and you may need to update your Change Workflow to include Change Approval Policies, this is further explained in the Docs link provided above.

Thanks @Niclas - I was able to use your response above for my scenario and setup two CAB approvals. The only thing that I noticed is that when someone in CAB 1 approved, the other CAB member approvals shows as "Requested". After members of CAB 2 approve, then the change moves to 'Scheduled' state. This may cause some confusion, but we can live with this.
