Dotwalk to a variable on a specific catalog item

Hello!
I am working on creating an email notification that sends during a flow when an account is created, however, it is tied to a variable to pull the user's email and name. This is a different variable as it is being requested for another user who may not exist within the system first. However, I am unable to dot walk to any of the created variables and was wondering of a way to be able to get to these variables.

@mtomc I assume you might have used "Get catalog variables" activity in flow designer. You use another activity of the same either to pull the variables using catalog item or variable sets and then cascade those to the email notification.
Kindly share the screenshots if more assistance is required.

If your catalog variable is Reference Fields then you can use "get catalog variable" action first to get catalog variable.
then in next step you can you get catalog steps to and do dot walk.
