Hello ServiceNow Community,
I am trying to see if this use case is possible for a implementation I'm working on:
If User A has a pending approval and they would like to approve, would it be possible to have them select who the next approver will be? (i.e. approval record, dropdown selection to Approved, and an additional dropdown appears to select the next approver. (Approver A, selects approve, they would like to select User B and update the approval record) I'd like the dropdown for selecting the next user to be a reference so I can add filter specifications on the sys_user table.

That’s not a best practice, mate. The approval must be defined beforehand. For which module are you looking to set up this configuration?"
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

I figured as much! Never seen this use case before, but our customer wanted to see if this was possible. The approval would be for requested items.

Hi @GamNOW ,
As @Dr Atul G- LNG have mentioned, this is not best practice. Even though that your client has this as a requirement, I would always challenge this, and move them towards a more sustainable solution.
If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
Best regards

Hi @GamNOW ,
Yes it's possible !
Once user A is going to approve the pending one make fields mandatory for next approver and then only he can approve, once you have next approver value you can send the next approval to him.
you can implement this without any coding using flow designer.
Create a flow and trigger the 1st approval as per your requirement , once 1st approval send then approver filled the next approver, check next_approver field value is not empty and pick that user value and send the next approver.
If you found my response helpful, please mark it as helpful and accept it as the solution.
Thank you
