Moving a task from one VTB to a different VTB

When trying to move a task from one VTB to another VTB I can choose the 2nd VTB but when I try and select a lane I get no matches found.  Has anyone had this type of issue before?

Hey Cat, how are you?

I’ve seen similar behavior with Visual Task Boards.

One thing I would check first is the type of the target VTB.

Moving a card between boards is supported for Freeform VTBs, and the target board/lane needs to be compatible. If the second board is Guided or Flexible, or its lanes are being generated from a field rather than actual Freeform lanes, you may be able to see the board but not get any valid lanes to select.

I would also check:

  • Both boards are Freeform VTBs.

  • The target board actually has active lanes configured.

  • The user has access to the target board and its lanes.

  • None of the target lanes are hidden.

  • There are no ACL/customization restrictions affecting the VTB records.

If both boards are definitely Freeform and the lanes are visible when opening the second board directly, then I would start looking at the VTB lane records and ACLs, as the lane lookup should normally return them.

Check this article about it, maybe it can be helpfull.

Hope this helps. If it does, please mark the response as useful.
