Do any of you good people know why there is no "On Hold" State on a Request Item OOB? ...And further, is there any guidance on whether (or how) to add one?
The closest I have found to guidance was on Projects and that was to add a check-box rather than a new State.
Google AI was convinced it does come OOB so I verified it isn't there in a Yokohama Developer instance just now.
Thank you in advance!

HI @Viper777 ,
yes, there is no on-hold state
if you wan you can add it
or
you can use pending and may be create a new field as why the item (or SC task) is pending
yes, checkbox is also a good idea
Please mark my answer as helpful/correct if it resolves your query.

Hi @Viper777
OOTB, there is no separate "state" choice list for "sc_req_item" table. It takes choice list from "task" table. You can configure a choice set for state field on sc_req_item table similar to Incident table.
task table has pending as one of the state choices but no on-hold.

Hi @Viper777 ,
To add a state to the requested item is foundational knowledge for how to configure that platform. If you're unaware of how to do this, I would advise that you take the CSA training provided by ServiceNow.
If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
