OOB fields 'governance' and 'confidence' meaning and benefits

Hi Experts,

I am looking into completely new SNOW instance Knowledge management form with such OOB fields 'governance' and 'confidence'.

For field 'confidence' I see choices: 'work in progress', 'validated' or 'not validated'. How is this different from 'workflow' where we have 'draft', 'published' and etc?

For field governance I see choices 'compliance based', 'experience based'. What value this field should bring?

Please share your experience what value these fields bring to you.

Hi @LinaV

Confidence Field Indicates the level of reliability and validation of the knowledge article.
Work in Progress -The content is still being developed or reviewed.
Validated - The content has been reviewed and verified for accuracy.
Not Validated - The content exists but has not been formally reviewed or approved.
Confidence is about content reliability, while Workflow State (kb_workflow) determines where the article is in the publishing lifecycle.

Governance Field
Defines the source and method used to create and maintain the knowledge article.
- compliance-Based : The article is governed by formal policies, regulatory guidelines, or structured reviews. Used for legal, security, or ITSM process documentation.
- Experience-Based : The article is created based on user experiences, troubleshooting, or practical knowledge, often contributed by frontline employees.

Hi @raj chavan ,

Who can edit the Governance field?

Hey @Manasa Reddy Li

These fields are typically restricted so that only users with elevated roles such as system administrator or knowledge managers can edit it.
