Quantity selection for Catalog items through an Order guide

Hi all,

Please read the entire post

We have a basic onboarding order guide which has some items listed for selection like laptop, mouse, laptop bag, etc.

For some use cases, the user would like to order more than one item (example: 2 mouses) in a single order guide Request. Below we can see, in the catalog item interface one can select the quantity

The problem is that we don't have quantity selection enabled on the second screen of the order guide.

I can add the quantity variable on the 'describe needs' section of the order guide but then I would have to define the quantity variable per item (mouse, laptop, laptop bag, etc) which would complicate the order guide design and also create a large number of rule base for every combination of item and quantity as below. So I want to stay away from this approach and see if there is a simpler way.

Laptop Quantity is 1 AND Laptop checkbox is selected. Select Laptop with 1 quantity

Laptop Quantity is 2 AND Laptop checkbox is selected. Select Laptop with 2 quantity

.

.

.

Mouse Quantity is 1 AND Mouse checkbox is selected. Select Mouse with 1 quantity

Mouse Quantity is 2 AND Mouse checkbox is selected. Select Mouse with 2 quantity

.

.

Thanks,

Ravish

I think you just need to set the quantity attribute to 'true' on the cart layout. Go to Maintain Cart Layouts and select the one called 'Item Ordering Widget (Order Guide)' under Browser Widgets

so that would involve customising the widget, yes?

It looks like it yes. You would clone the widget and make changes to the copy.

Hi Ravish!
Did you find a solution for the quantity option on the SP view?

It's been a year, so I'll ask. Did anyone get a solution for the widget in the portal?

Hi,

I encountered the same issue and resolved it by changing the portal settings for all the catalog items included in the order guide. Previously, the setting was "Submit For Submitting Request." I updated it to "Order."

Additionally, I reviewed the Cart Layout Quantity Setting to ensure it aligns with this configuration.
