Standard Change with Multiple CIs

Hi All,

We are looking to create a standard change template for routine changes that don't require any approval, such as monthly server patching job.  There would numerous CIs included in such a change.  Is there an easy way to bring over the affected CIs into this template?  I have tried using the UI Action for 'Proposing a Standard Change Template" from a normal change, but the CI's on the affected CI related list do not come over to the template.  Any ideas?

 Hi @smithro

Greetings!!

My understanding say, as soon as Change template has been used for change creation, the affected CI will get auto populated based on CI entered in Main form. Is something same will not work or you want to add more CI as well.

There may be 75-100 different servers on a monthly patch, so our server team is looking for a way for all to pull over to the template without having to manually add them each month.  I was looking at "dynamic CI groups" but not sure if that's the right solution either.

Hi @smithro

I tried to bring the Affected CI on change proposal but it did not bring the CI on change, please have look here on post
