Will KB article link with KB number always route to latest version in announcement?

Hi,

I have a scenario where I’ve created an announcement in the Service portal in the Dev environment. In this announcement, I’ve added a link to a KB article using the KB number format like:
For example:

Spoiler
sp?id-kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0023984

My question is:

If I move this announcement from Dev to Prod, will the link automatically route to the latest published version of the article in Production, assuming the KB number stays the same?

I want to make sure that the announcement will always point to the latest version of the article without needing manual updates to the link after future article revisions.

Thanks in advance!

if the link format targets the KB number and if that number is the correct one then no change required.

if the URL includes sysparm_article then it will always display the latest published version of the article with that KB number in production.

-> Don't use link with sysId, use this

https://<instance>.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0012345
