I faced few weeks back an issue with discovering network devices in my network. I followed the configuration steps in SN wiki, I discovered everything except the network devices.
I was receiving the error below:
%SNMP probe timed out. Target is either unreachable or there are no valid credentials for it.
I increased the timeout and the request timeout for SNMP on the MID server.
I installed SNMP walk on the MID server against the switch.
I checked the Switches OIDs in ServiceNow instances.
with SNMP v2 community string was working with me without any error.
Finally, the issue was related to the configuration on the switch, if SNMP v3 configuration was Authentication with No Privacy and on ServiceNow instance I set it to Authentication with Privacy key.
there is a checkpoint should be written in the Wiki says that the SNMP v3 configurations on the switch should be the same on ServiceNow instance.
