What is it?

Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) is a set of systems management tools provided by Oracle Corporation for managing the Oracle environment. It provides tools to monitor the Oracle environment and automate tasks.

OEM-Arch

The OEM to ServiceNow Integration will enable OEM to send events to Evanios Operations, which is an enterprise class event management that runs natively on SerivceNow.

Once in Evanios Operations, the OEM events can be de-duplicated, changed, correlated, analyzed, and used to trigger meaningful incidents or corrective automation.

How does the OEM to ServiceNow Integration work

Integration with Evanios Operation is very easy. By leveraging the "OEM Event Integration for ServiceNow" from Evanios, You can integrate your OEM events with ServiceNow is less than 1 hour. Using the OEM CLI the events call a script which sends to Evanios Operations:

Evanios provides a shell script called eops.sh that will be called by OEM. This shell script will package up script variables, and submit in a defined format to the Evanios command line client, which will handle submission to Evanios Operations:

Why integrate OEM to ServiceNow through Evanios Operations?

Evanios Operations is an event and operations management solution that runs directly on ServiceNow. It collects events from all your monitoring solutions and acts as a "manager of managers". From a single pane of glass you get an overall view of your IT environment. Events can be de-duplicated, correlated, and acted upon.

Our Event Management solution is a ServiceNow application which has the benefit of being able to leverage ITSM data from other applications. The response to an event can be changed based on its definition the CMDB, or what business services it might impact. The response can be handled differently if you are in the middle of an active scheduled change. (No one wants to get a wake up on-call for a scheduled change)
