I have not been in the RiseUp program. I do have questions though. What makes you technical? I understand where you want to go, but getting there involves more steps in addition to obtaining certifications.

While I’m still early in my RiseUp journey, I’ve been actively building my technical foundation through both hands-on training and certifications. Once completed in the  Rise up program I will have obtained micro-certifications in areas like Flow Designer, UI Builder, and Integration Hub, and I’m working toward my CSA, CIS-ITSM, and CAD certifications.

Beyond the credentials, I’m also gaining practical exposure through workshops I recently attended  a Asset Management workshop in Plano TX and also plan on attending the AI Summit  that will be in Irving TX and community discussions, and labs that help me understand how ServiceNow works under the hood. My goal is to continue developing not just knowledge, but technical confidence and capability — especially as I transition from healthcare into tech.

I welcome any advice you have on steps I can take to deepen my technical skill set — I’m all in on this journey!

Stay focused on the task at hand and keep constant with your studies.

Thanks. I probably saw you at the Plano event. When I think about the experience requirements to be a Technical PM, I would look for years of experience in that role. Or justification for you moving up into that role. Can you leverage what you did in nursing to justify calling yourself a PM? Are you willing to start as a developer, or admin and work in either position for years? I would expect a technical PM to know the platform in detail. To understand data flows, databases, problem solving, solutioning, integrations, etc.
