So I am ready to go and learn for Now Assist for Creator - but where should i start with? Let me write down the steps which i took to gain understanding on this topic. I will also post a few links at the end which came immensely helpful during this learning journey
1. Getting started - Install the plugin for Now Assist for Creator
The product documentation has the ServiceNow store link to request and install the plugin. Below is a snapshot of the actual technical name for the plugin
The best part of a store app i like about is that the app can be updated independently and you could get your hands dirty with all the latest and greatest features. Isn't that cool 🫰
Once you install the plugin, next thing at top of my mind is skill.
2. Activating the skill(s)
Once the plugin is activated, you can navigate to Now Assist Admin center and start activating the skills you need on the instance. For the sake of writing this article - lets leverage the out-of-box skill for Flow generation
On a side note an example of how you can activate the skill as in below snapshot 👇:
Detailed documentation about the Flow generation skill could be found here
3. Roles needed for using Now Assist for creator skills
You require a role now.assist.creator to work with Now Assist for creator skills. Does that mean without this role I would not be able to generate app summary? - You heard it right - You would not be able to use the skill
So without the now assist creator role the app page looks as below (without Build with Now assist section)
I added the now assist creator role to my profile and the magic happens 🪄
4. Lets create a flow
The best part i like about the generated flow is the annotations piece as it maps directly to the prompts you gave while creating a flow.
Now here is the magic 🪄 flow that is created
We can edit the flow after it has been created.
