If you've got Now Assist licenses in place but the icon still isn't showing up in the top-right corner, you're not alone and the fix is simpler than you'd think.

Licensing alone isn't enough. The experience needs to be explicitly enabled. Here's the exact sequence that worked for me:

 

Step 1 - Enable the Now Assist Experience Navigate to All → Now Assist Admin → Now Assist Experiences, select Now Assist Panel from the left menu, and click Turn On in the Summary section.

 

Step 2 - Turn On the Assistant Go to All → Conversational Interfaces → Assistants, find Now Assist Panel – Platform (default), click the three-dot menu (⋮), and select Turn On.

 

Step 3 - Trigger AI Search activation In the navigation bar, search for AI Search Status and open it. This kicks off the backend activation process.

 

Step 4 - Wait it out AI Search typically takes 30–45 minutes to fully activate. Grab a coffee, then refresh the Now Assist icon should now appear.
