What is the Log Export Service?
ServiceNow's Log Export Service (LES) is a turn-key solution that enables organizations to seamlessly integrate their ServiceNow system and application logs into enterprise-wide security analytics platforms12. Built on Apache Kafka, LES offers a highly scalable and near real-time architecture capable of handling trillions of events per day. This service allows system administrators to selectively configure and forward logs from their ServiceNow instances to the Hermes Messaging Service, which can then be pulled into external analytics tools using Kafka connectors. LES provides organizations with improved security posture, minimized workflow interruptions, and enhanced incident resolution capabilities for their ServiceNow deployments2. It comes as part of the ServiceNow Vault product or can be ordered separately. By leveraging LES, companies can efficiently monitor system performance, conduct IT troubleshooting, and maintain regulatory compliance across their enterprise.
