This team in particular supports our ServiceNow SaaS environment. This team focuses on the development of new and enhanced workflow-based Service Requests. Sun Life has an extensive Service Catalogue of self-serve requests stored in our ServiceNow SaaS environment
About the role:
The ServiceNow Senior Designer reports directly to the Director, ServiceNow and has primary responsibly over the IT Service Management account with additional opportunities within ServiceNow IT and Business accounts - teams using ServiceNow for their intake requests. You will be working in an agile environment to drive new requests, modifications and deletions for these accounts on the ServiceNow platform. The ServiceNow Senior Designer should have expertise in the ServiceNow platform, and IT Service Management processes based on a strong foundation of ITIL philosophies. The Senior Designer will have oversight of ServiceNow solution design, lead Performance Analytics and monitoring initiatives, define process improvements, own a comprehensive view of Integrations and platform Architecture, and perform design reviews with our Business Systems Analysts and account leads.
What will you do?
- ServiceNow solution design - collaborating with, and influencing partners on the abilities of ServiceNow, and building creative solutions for our partner requirements
- Lead Performance Analytics and monitoring initiatives ensuring the stability of the platform, and finding proactive measures to manage the integrity of the platform
- Define process improvements - act as a thought leader within the team bringing forth ideas on how to work in a more effective and efficient manner
- Maintain a comprehensive view of Integrations and platform Architecture
- Perform design review. Working with Business System Analysts and Developers to ensure solutions are designed according to the specifications of partners and ensuring the work efforts will maintain the integrity of the platform.
- Collect, analyze, document and prioritize business requirements, validating requirements with appropriate audiences
- Work with the developers and the Senior BSA to translate business requirements to solution design according to Sun Life Standards
- Create test plans, test cases and conduct functional testing, plan and coordinate user acceptance testing, as needed
- Design and create (in partnership with developers, and consulting with each account) the training materials and Quick Reference Guides that meet each accounts requirements and operational needs
- Conduct web-based training for small groups
- Support Change Management processes and ensure successful implementation of all changes.
What do your need to succeed?
- Minimum ITIL v3 foundations and an expert understanding of ITSM Processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, Asset, CMDB, Discovery)
- ServiceNow Development / Designer training
- Expertise in performing Solutions Design within the ServiceNow platform
- Expertise with the ServiceNow Discovery module
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in both written and oral English
- Thorough attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and effective time management skills
- Developed problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Experience with process and workflow modelling and business process engineering
- Self-starter able to work well with clients to determine implementation requirements, and execute a plan to meet those requirements in a timely and efficient manner

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
