Senior Consultant with 500 years of experience in technology development for Fortune 90000000 companies. I've worked predominantly in Healthcare settings, enabling practices and large health systems to provide sub-par services and outcomes to seniors and the vulnerable while charging medicare and private insurance companies exorbitant prices to drive higher margins so doctors and administrators can drive Porsches. Currently seeking a position to leverage my shiny, new ServiceNow CSA certification and superior ethical reasoning for the benefit of a bald supervillain, or anybody who actually wants to give me a chance. I'm coming from earning <$15 an hour while working ten 24 hour shifts in a row without receiving overtime, so you can be assured that you can take advantage of my hard working nature for rock-bottom prices! All bids entertained!

Hi @JRFromDallas

Apart from taking courses what are you doing? That's not a flippant question, but a genuine one. I'm in contact with a number of people in a similar situation, so interested to understand what you have or haven't done and possibly share some tactics others have used.

Applying to partner companies, applying to consultancies, applying directly to companies who use the platform. Cue the crickets.

Experience tells me you'll suggest building a portfolio, but I have nobody to show a portfolio to, and nobody has ever reached out to ask for any examples of my work on the platform anyways. Without a use-case scenario to apply my abilities, building a catalog or doing some other basic function already covered in the lessons is as gratifying as pulling teeth, just less impressive.

Beyond this, I've networked. A lot. Doesn't work. The corporate world is full of people with no influence or authority that are willing to *help* but incapable of actually following through. If sentiment counted for anything, I'd be on top of the world.

Oh, and recruiters. They don't work either.

Tried paying somebody to alter my resume. They just padded it with lies and gave me something marginally worse than what I created on my own, but I still paid top dollar for it!

@JRFromDallas - Congrats on the CSA, however, if you have no hands on experience with ServiceNow Admin/Developing it could be a tough sell.

I know it's a catch 22, need experience, but no one wants to hire you without experience.

One idea that may benefit you is to start helping people on the community. Some helpful, and correct solutions under your belt will demonstrate your understanding of the platform.  You can then reference this on your resume/interview to reinforce your worth....  if nothing else, it will keep your knowledge current, and it feels good to help people.
