Hello Team,

This is an ISO 27001:2022 Certified Auditor - Maulik Soni.

I am tired of lying to HR persons about my last job and career break!.

Not sure why, but here, I would like to open up about my self and the job application.

So, Its been 1.5 years I am a helping hands at home - not earning money !.

I resigned from my last job Dec 2024 due to health reason and change in career path.

I have almost recovered from health since then - not so big issue now.

And to change my career Cybersecurity - GRC path, I enrolled for the ISO Auditor course from TUV SUD in October 2025 - gave the exam and failed !

I re-attempted in 2026, and successfully became an ISO Auditor.

And during all these times, I had 1 international trip  and 1 major family event - which absorb few months from the break !

I have been keep reviewing my resume with the AI Agents with 'Brutely Honest' prompt and most of the time, receiving the different responses for the same message that -

I am lacking of experience in the GRC/ Auditor work.

Getting certified as an Auditor without corporate experience itself was a big deal for me and that's what I would like to express.

This timeline of getting certified proves that how passionate I am about the Cybersecurity - GRC field (irrespective of experience).

I have attached my resume for the reference.

I would really love to work with the team and expand my knowledge and skills.

Moving into ServiceNow requires more than domain knowledge/experience. Especially when it's in a field like IRM/GRC/Cybersecurity. Within the ServiceNow ecosystem, experts on this are hard to find. But knowing the platform and how ServiceNow handles everything is important as well.

With your experience, create a (free) NowLearning account and go through the courses. There's a lot you can focus on.

Putting the courses on your resume will really help to get through the door. Having the certs would be even better, but the courses are free, the certification isn't. We don't know your financial situation.

Maybe see how it goes with the courses on your resume. If your future employer lets you certify on their dime, that would be even better.

What I have seen in the past is that this domain is difficult to understand for people moving into it from ITSM/ITOM/SPM/CSM expertise (where people often start). Having your experience, I think understanding it in ServiceNow will be easy. It's just the platform you need to get used to.

Here's what you'll get in the playlist: Day 1-3: Privacy Assessment, Workspace, Indicators, Metrics Lifecycle, Policy & Compliance, Plugins Installation Day ...

Hello Dr. Atul sir,

Thank you so much for providing the GRC Playlist. I have started the playlist and loved your explanation method - the way you have taught from the laymen term to technical term.

But, there is this one question keep hitting in my mind, that why do I need to watch the playlist?

If you have gone through my resume, can you please help me what's that thing which I need to improve or put on the resume to get a job?

I have been unemployed since 1.5 years, so now kind of, I am just simply looking for a job !

Yeah, till I don't get a job, I can watch the playlist, but still if you can answer my question?

Much helpful !

Thanks.

Hi @JrAuditorMaulik

Thanks for your kind words and blessings.

I reviewed your CV, and I would say that your domain knowledge is already very strong, which is a great advantage. If you want to move into ServiceNow, the key is to combine your domain expertise with platform knowledge, as both go hand in hand.

My recommendation is to start by watching some ServiceNow learning playlists and introductory training content. I’m sure you’ll be able to relate many of the concepts to your existing domain experience, which will make the learning process much easier.

With your current background, you already have a solid foundation. Focus on understanding the platform, its capabilities, and how it supports business processes within your domain. Once you connect the two, you'll be able to progress quickly and confidently.

All the best, mate!
