Need your IMPORTANT SUGGESTION on my SNOW Transition plan (Subrata )

Hi ,

I am writing to express my interest in transitioning into the ServiceNow ecosystem, specifically targeting roles such as Business Process Analyst, Customer Service Management, or Service Administrator. I have 15 years of experience as an Online Bidder and in Business Development within IT service companies. While I have gained significant professional experience, I have found that my growth in terms of salary and recognition has stalled.

As a (Bachelor of Arts) graduate with no technical background, I have relied on practical experience rather than technical degrees or courses. My research suggests that ServiceNow offers excellent growth potential and a favorable competitive landscape compared to other platforms.

I would appreciate your guidance on a few points:

- Is completing the Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification mandatory to enter the field?
- Would having CSA knowledge significantly benefit my target roles in Business Analysis or Customer Service Management?

MY LOCATION IS FROM INDIA

Appreciate your reply.

Thanks
Subrata

Hi Subrata,

Welcome to ServiceNow or at least thinking about it.  As a newish member (3 years and counting) where I transitioned from a full stack developer to a ServiceNow developer and learning the ins and outs of ServiceNow, I say that CSA is definitely a good place to start.  However, it does cover a very board area of ServiceNow, but that means it gives you a good idea what it has to offer.  With CSA, it is more a proof to your future employer and yourself that this is the route you want to take.  Many of the more in-depth courses does require you have CSA.  If you are looking into getting into the BA side of things, I think CSA will give you a very good idea what ServiceNow has to offer, and how things works within ServiceNow, so when talking to a client, you will know what is and is not possible within ServiceNow.

Hope this help.

Dear Joe,

Thanks for your response over my post.  I really have no technical background , though you are transitioning from Fullstack developer and have technical background. My goal is be become Snow Business Process Analyst and Customer Support Management but to know more in detail about the platform I must to know CSA and have that certification first.

One more query for learning Snow what is the best way hands on using Snow University platform or other platform such as Udemy, Coursera since with my little R&D on learning I see PDI is very important for hands on otherwise I don't remember due to my non technical background 🙂

Do let me know your valuable thoughts Joe 🙂

Thanks and have a nice weekend.
