Not sure what pathway to chose

I’ve been working in the ServiceNow industry for almost five years now. I started my journey as a ServiceNow Business Analyst and currently work as a Configuration Specialist for a well-known corporation.

I’m now at a stage where I’m unsure about the next step in my career. I’m preparing for my CAD certification, but I’m not entirely sure if I’d enjoy working as a full-time developer.

I’ve also noticed a decline in job opportunities for traditional ITSM roles (Change, Knowledge, Problem, Incident Management, and ServiceNow Admin), while there’s growing demand in areas like Cyber, ITOM, AI, and IRM.

So far, I’ve completed my CSA certification, and I’d like to progress toward a pathway that offers long-term demand and stability. From my observation, there’s strong current demand for ITOM, Discovery, and Service Mapping implementation specialists, but many of these roles tend to be short-term contracts that end once implementation is complete.

I’d really appreciate any advice or insights from the community on how to make the right decision for the next phase of my ServiceNow career.

Thanks in advance!
