This role is based in our new modern state of the art office in Nottingham city centre which has excellent transport links and has a great working environment and the feel of an innovative technology company.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for ServiceNow system maintenance, Advanced Administration, workflow development, portal development, Scripting, Bug Fixes, enhancements, upgrades and all-round technical implementation of the tool.
- Work with the product team to implement technical solutions within ServiceNow to integrate it with other toolsets, improve the user experience, improve efficiencies and employ a shift left mentality within IT Operations Management.
- Implement within the ITOM applications, discovery & service mapping patterns, event management rules, orchestration and operational intelligence.
Key Accountabilities:
- Communicate well and collaborate with other team members, all stakeholders and end users, ability to clearly articulate solutions to complex technical issues.
- Accountable to maintain measurable progress for assigned tasks and responsibilities with little supervision. Be able to answer technical questions and provide feedback when requested by the management team.
- Work closely with other stakeholders and 3rd party vendors on the configuration and deployment of the ServiceNow platform.
- Work within team strategy for ongoing administration, improving performance and configuration for the ServiceNow platform ensuring documentation requirements are maintained while utilizing ServiceNow best practices
- Contribute as technical lead on ServiceNow projects. Work on Level 2 and Level 3 tickets assigned for ServiceNow functionality requests or technical issues.
- Monitor system stability and performance metrics to prevent service degradation or interruption. Conduct risk assessment when and where needed and identify potential gaps.
- Contributes towards collection of KB artifacts to be used to prepare operational Runbook. Works with team and with different Service level group stakeholders to support operational rollout and end user adoption.
Technical Skills:
- Hands on experience with JavaScript, preferably within ServiceNow.
- Possesses 3-5 years’ experience with ServiceNow administration, configuration management and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform.
- ServiceNow Platforms modules: Discovery, Event Management, Scripting, Service Mapping, Business Rules, Script Includes, Custom applications, Orchestration, Workflows, Service Catalog.
- Demonstrated ability to perform code analysis and troubleshoot difficult technical issues, ability to identify system deficiencies and recommend solutions.
- Strong knowledge of server & network infrastructure and the related configuration items used by ServiceNow platform.
Qualifications
Professional skills:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills needed with technical and non-technical audiences including other engineers, management and or with 3rd party vendors are essential.
- Identifies all actions associated with Change Management progress, applies principles when making changes to rollout for new or updated software or configurations used for ServiceNow.
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff to collect and gather intelligence used for building functional requirements.
- Able to comprehend details within a technical document including system design and documentation. Must be able to translate business needs to requirements for application monitoring system requirements.
- Handles adoption for any un-planned changes in schedule or scope for projects. Capable to re-prioritize and adjust as needed.
Education:
- Candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science equivalent work experience.
- (Desirable) ServiceNow Advanced Administration, Discovery fundamentals, Service Mapping Fundamentals, Scripting Fundamentals (any others)
- ITIL V3 certification or 5+ years’ experience is desirable.
Minimum Work Experience:
- At least 5 years relevant technical experience
