Hi @FelicityJ ,
No direct reply as it depends on which role you are lookign for in Servicenow. But at least you should be through with ServiceNow platform and admin concepts. Rest if you want development role than Scripting/development part. If you want to be a Business Analyst then BA related skill. Similarly for BPC you should be good in processes so it depends....
If my answer my helped you, please mark it- solution accepted.

Hi @FelicityJ
As a ServiceNow trainer, I often get asked about the minimum qualifications or skills needed to land a job. Honestly, it’s a tough question to answer because the current market is very volatile and keeps changing rapidly.
To secure a ServiceNow role, having strong fundamentals is essential. The CSA certification and a deep understanding of the platform are must-haves—clear these basics first, as interviewers often look for clarity on how well-grounded you are in the roots and core concepts. If you’re 100% confident, go for certifications.
In addition to CSA, knowledge of scripting is highly valuable. You can also consider roles beyond administration, such as Business Analyst (BA) or Business Process Consultant (BPC), depending on your strengths and interests.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

Hi @FelicityJ ,
It totally depends on your interest.
If you want to become a ServiceNow Administrator, you should have a basic understanding of the ServiceNow platform, user experience, and hold the CSA (Certified System Administrator) certification.
If you aim to be a ServiceNow Developer, you should know at least one core module (like ITSM), have some scripting knowledge, and pursue certifications such as CAD (Certified Application Developer) and CIS-ITSM (Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM).
If you are more inclined toward a Business Analyst or Process role, you need to be familiar with ITIL concepts and frameworks so you can design processes aligned with ITIL best practices. In this case, ITIL v4 certification is highly recommended.
Thanks,
Pradeep
