We are starting to deploy the News Center and News article publication within our Portal. While we want all news articles to be visible in the News Center's main news widget, we want to display more personalized/targeted content in the Featured News widget, based on the connected User's country, function, business group, job level, etc.
While I know we can create templates with the appropriate publication plans that include the targeted audiences, given the highly matrixed nature of our global organization, this means creating dozens and dozens of templates.
Alternatively, asking news creators to develop ad hoc publication plans leaves a lot of room for error in selecting the publication destination and audience group.
Is there a way to create reusable publication plans that can simply be added to the News article, versus attaching them to the template?
