Introducing AI Identified Project Risks

Now available in ServiceNow Project Workspace. AI analyzes your project data, detects emerging risks, and populates your RIDAC log automatically in transient state, complete with rationale and mitigation plans, so you can review, accept, or reject risks before they become blockers.

Why It Matters

Project managers identify risks reactively, often after they've already impacted the project. Manually reviewing tasks, budgets, schedules, and resources to spot emerging risks is time-consuming and easy to miss. By the time risks are documented in RIDAC, mitigation opportunities may have passed. Project Risks Detection helps teams uncover risks earlier, enabling more effective planning, mitigation, and resource allocation.

What Makes It Special

Time Saving: Reclaim the hours spent manually reviewing project data to identify risks and let AI surface what matters most.
Complete Risk Details: Each AI-identified risk record includes a title & description, impact, probability, rationale explaining why it was flagged, and a suggested mitigation plan.
Review & Decide: Accept risks to add them to your RIDAC register or reject risks that aren't relevant.
Regenerate Anytime: Click "Regenerate" to refresh risk analysis as your project evolves and data changes.
AI Draft State: All AI-generated risks start in "AI Draft" state, clearly indicating they need your review before becoming official.

Note: This feature is available in Project Workspace for users with it_project_manager role.

How It Works

Navigate to Project Workspace.
Select and open your project.
Click "AI Identified Risks" in the L2 menu.
Click "Generate AI Risks" to trigger analysis.
Review AI-generated risks with their description, rationale, and mitigation plans.
For each risk:
- Accept: Risk moves to the RIDAC list with status "Pending".
- Reject: Risk is removed and marked "Closed - Skipped" (AI won't regenerate it).
Click "Regenerate" anytime to refresh risk analysis with the latest project data.
