This step-by-step guide provides instructions on creating your own custom report in the Next Experience Platform Analytics to see a monthly summary of Capacity versus Allocation (Effort) from the new ServiceNow Resource Management.

This guide includes instructions for both Xanadu and pre-Xanadu instances. It assumes that you are using the group field as your primary planning attribute in Resource Management, but the instructions can be slightly altered for using other planning attributes.

I'm creating exactly as this in the PDF in a PDI. When I choose to group by the existing group, it allows me to click on "Apply", but nothing happens. It stays on the screen that I share in print. What should I do?

Can resources be allocated by percents? We use percentages not hours when allocating resources.

Great guide and gets me some of the way to what I need.  However, the report is showing 'No Data' so I'm not sure whether it's something to do with setting up the planning attributes? (quite new to SPM and not a ServiceNow Admin) but it seems like the resource allocations from demand records aren't coming over to the planning items?

I am trying to achieve something similar, but with a few nuances:

1. I only need 'Person Days', I don't need the Capacity element which should be easy

2. I need a rolled up aggregation of unassigned resource assignment requests (a rolled up view of the data in the Resource Management Workspace) based on Roles rather than groups

My thinking is that the 'aggregation' in the guide happens based on rolling up the time allocated to specific users with the above roles. However, my client doesn't use ServiceNow for resource management fully, so they are trying to do 'unnamed' forecasting of demand.

What I really need is to show the 'unassigned' resource assignment requests, rolled up by role, by month.

This is so that at a high level, they can see when the demand on teams is high eg BAs in April

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ben
