I created a new assessment and linked it to our Teamspace 1 Demand table. I have published the assessment nad I am trying to assign the assessment to myself but I keep receiving the "The assessment could not be assigned. For more information, contact your system administrator." message. What are some common configuration errors that I might have overlooked that could be causing this error message to appear?

Hi, I had the same issue with an Assessment that I had created for a custom table. I checked the System Log and it gave the following suggestions for what could be wrong:
1. Please make sure that at least one metric category has at least one assessable record associated.
2. Please make sure that at least one metric category has at least one metric.
3. Please make sure that if domain plugin is installed, at least one assessable record is visible to this user.
4. Please make sure that at least one metric category is accessable to this user - check the roles on category.
5. Please make sure that this user has required roles to access the assessable record.: no thrown error
However none of these applied to my situation so I did a bit more investigation and found that when I used the "Generate Assessable Records" related link on the Assessment Metric Type record, the Assessable Record that was created did not have relevant Assessment Category linked (i.e. there was no entry in the "Category" related list). When I manually edited the related list to add the Category to the Assessable Record, and then used "Assign Assessment", this time it worked.
Hope this helps,
Declan
