Best scalable way to manage ServiceNow platform requirements for small teams

Hi everyone,

I recently joined my organization as a ServiceNow Platform Admin. We currently have ITSM, and most ServiceNow platform requirements, enhancements, technical work, and development work are being tracked through Incidents or Catalog Requests.

I want to introduce a more structured process with proper requirement intake, backlog management, auditability, traceability, and a delivery lifecycle that can scale as the platform and team grow.

I was considering Agile 2.0, but with it being deprecated, I’m not sure if that is the right direction.

For a small ServiceNow team using ITSM today, what would you recommend as the most scalable and economical approach?

Hi @Hemanth M ,

With Agile 2.0 approaching deprecation and an organizational constraint against purchasing CWM/SPM licenses, what are our alternative paths forward? If we deploy Agile 2.0 today, what are the long-term technical and operational risks when the module is fully deprecated? What other teams are planning to do who are currently implementing 2.0?

Hi @a_3456 ,

If you haven't installed Agile 2.0 yet, I don't think you can do so now. If you have already installed it, you can run it for a few years.

If your organization uses other platforms like Jira, you can go in that direction (maybe build an integration to pull record details from ServiceNow requests, incidents, etc.).

You can go through this as well :https://www.servicenow.com/community/servicenow-ai-platform-articles/agile-development-2-0-deprecati...

If procuring SPM is not an option you might consider building the intake and demand management process with Microsoft tools if you are an MS shop (Or Google if that's what your shop uses).  Intake could be managed by an MS Form, PowerAutomate could be used to create a "card" on a Demand Management planner board, lanes of the planner board could be used to represent demand state, In-flight project work could take place in MS Planner Premium or MS Project, etc... Very flexible approach and PowerAutomate can be used to build all kinds of notifications / integrations...
