SPM PowerPoint Export - Custom Fields Not Populating

I'm working on a new status report template using some custom fields on the pm_project table that we haven't used before on status reports. They show up in the Export to PPT Add-In, the placeholders seem appropriate with the link the final } but when I go to export a report, they all come up blank. In the image attached, Budget and EAC come up fine, the other three come up empty. Variance at Completion is a custom calculated field on the pm_project table only.  Impacted Entities is on the pm_project table but pulls values from the same field on the u_implementations table (already in the related table list for project_status) and Impacted Users is on the pm_project table but pulls values from the same field on the u_sub_portfolio table (not in the related table lists).

 

So my question is, how do I get these custom fields to pull in correctly for this report? Do the u_implementations and u_sub_portfolio tables need to be related tables under pm_project?
