Application Navigator is Missing. Support chat not working.

I am new to ServiceNow. I just launched my first instance. The application navigator is missing. Also when I click on the profile icon dropdown, it is not opening the dropdown. This is extremely frustrating. What is wrong with my instance? Where is the ALl, Favourites, Workspaces, History, etc? Then I tried to get help by clicking support, and then chat. The AI thing won't let me talk to a real agent. I thought ServiceNow is a huge company. Why is the support this poor?

Hey Glen,
I think maybe your user role is not set to admin, that’s why you can’t see the Application Navigator and other options. Don’t worry, it’s an easy fix.

Go to this link: https://developer.servicenow.com/dev.do
After login, click on Manage my instance.

Now you will see an Actions dropdown, click it.

From there choose Change user role.
Your role will probably be “App Engine Studio Creator” by default, just change it to Admin.

Then refresh your instance and check again, everything should be back.

Hope this helps!

Hi Muhammed,

I really appreciate the reply. But the "Manage My Instance" and "Start Building" icons are missing in my developer.service-now.com link. I am using the Google Chrome browser. I'm not sure if the issue is with the browser or in something else.

Could you please help me further?

I really appreciate your help. Thank you.

Yours friendly,

Glen Adam.

Try this:

https://yourinstance.service-now.com/nav_to.do

Replace yourinstance with your actual instance name/domain. This URL should bring you into the standard (classic) UI.
