Meet Community MVP...

Abhishek Gardade

Hello Abhishek!  So tell us a little on how you got started in your career and when was ServiceNow introduced to you?

imageWhen I joined Capgemini as a fresher in 2017, I was asked to choose a training program between AWS & ServiceNow. I was informed that ServiceNow is a ticketing tool and AWS is Cloud based technology. So, I chose AWS which ended up in 2 months and I switched to ServiceNow after knowing the capabilities and glimpse what ServiceNow can do.

What do you do now? What is your favorite part of using the ServiceNow?

I am ServiceNow Consultant at T-Systems. Primarily, I am working on ITSM Implementations, building Custom Solutions and scoped applications. For me, Scripting is always favourite & important while using the ServiceNow. But recently, I found ServiceNow DevOps is very interesting and started learning & doing some POC’s on it.

How did your career evolve?

I have started my career with learning AWS (around 3 months), following that I got introduced to ServiceNow.

find_real_file.png How did you get involved with the ServiceNow Community?

Two of my colleagues were talking about the community and how it benefits you to solve your problem. So, I posted one issue I was facing, and I got a response that really helped me to go on the right path to find and fix the issue. This is how I got involved in the community and started posting questions

You're very generous with your time. What inspired you to start answering in addition to asking?

On the community, I found questions, issues that I faced and was aware how to fix them. So, I started answering the questions. I observed people are posting similar questions which were already answered, but they are not aware how to find it. So, I started sharing those links on those questions.

How do you work the community into your day?

When I don’t have anything to do, I will spend the whole day on community which ends at 1 or 2 AM. But normally I do spend 4 to 5 hours on community along with my work. Nowadays, I am focusing more on posting articles and blogs which really helps.

Where do you spend your time in the community?

Scripting, Developer Community and questions which now answered or not replied at all.

How else do you participate?

I try to explore other tools and areas where we can use ServiceNow and integrate with them.

What would you say to encourage your peers to participate more?

Keep contributing and learning from content available in the community. Specially checkout the blogs, articles, webinars and TechNow Episodes that will boost your ServiceNow career and to gain more expertise.

What advice would you give to someone who wanted a nudge to start contributing?

One advice to them, “Start sharing quality content. While answering any question, don’t just start sharing links but start sharing your approach, logic, and best practises as well. If you don’t know the answer, still you can mention experts, top contributors on each forum. Also show your support to other replies which are correct.”

Any other advice to share with those just starting on their journey with ServiceNow?

Yeah, I request all of them to “start exploring new features, capabilities and always keep learning and make proper use of Docs, Now Learning, and Community.”

Do you have any stand-out / memorable experiences with ServiceNow?

Being introduced to MVP 2020 Class and getting acknowledgement from Chuck Tomasi.

Is there a specific product and/or feature that you just can't believe you ever lived without?

It's difficult to live without Integration Capabilities.

Do you have a favorite piece of content on the community?

TechNow Episodes, Community Podcasts and Ask the Experts

What motivates you to participate? Why do you do it?

Community helps me to learn a lot of things which I don’t know, improves my knowledge on topics, and to share expertise areas I know.

Any other interesting tidbits, stories, hobbies you'd like to share?

I love listening to music while doing anything. I do play games a lot.

Thank you, Abhishek!
