Hello Harshvardhan! So tell us a little on how you got started in your career and when was ServiceNow introduced to you?
I started my career on HP PPM tool as a Junior Associate consultant, then got to know about ServiceNow around Jan 2015. Initially I was involved more into support related activity.
What do you do now? What is your favorite part of using the ServiceNow?
I am working as a Lead Software Engineer, which includes- gathering requirements, developing solutions and doing support activity tasks.
My favorite part, as of now, is to work on “Service Portal”.
How did your career evolve?
I have done my B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering. I started my career as a junior associate consultant, where I used to work on HP-PPM tool and then I have moved to ServiceNow platform.
How did you get involved with the ServiceNow Community?
I got to know about the ServiceNow community from my first manager. Initially, I used it to find some of the solutions and practice on other issues by my side. After a few months, I started answering queries faced by other people which I could solve at my end.
You're very generous with your time. What inspired you to start answering in addition to asking?
I like to help people with their queries because it enhances my knowledge as well. Also I believe in sharing my knowledge with others.
How do you work the community into your day?
I decided to give a minimum 2hrs/Day.
Where do you spend your time in the community?
Mostly on recent questions but now I have started looking-into those questions which have not been answered by anyone.
How else do you participate?
By organizing ServiceNow (New-Delhi Developer) meet-up and writing blogs.
What would you say to encourage your peers to participate more?
ServiceNow community helps you to learn about different topics and areas which might help you in future. Also, it is a great platform to professionally network with people of different fields.
What advice would you give to someone who wanted a nudge to start contributing?
It will enhance your confidence and will give you the satisfaction of helping someone.
Any other advice to share with those just starting on their journey with ServiceNow?
