Meet Community MVP...

Mohammad Asif Noor

Hello Asif!  So tell us a little on how you got started in your career and when was ServiceNow introduced to you?

imageI have been a software programmer for over 15 years now. I started my career as a web application developer and moved towards mobile application development. My journey with ServiceNow started in the year 2017.

What do you do now? What is your favorite part of using the ServiceNow?

I am a Lead Developer with the ServiceNow practice at Azri Consulting Services. Apart from working with ServiceNow, I enjoy spending time on the ServiceNow community space by going through the posts, learning, and answering the questions that I can. I also create content and post articles on ServiceNow to share new knowledge.

How did your career evolve?

In 2017, we started building a ServiceNow practice at my company. Initially, I started working on ServiceNow projects as a developer. Then, as we grew the practice, we started working on ServiceNow projects with various partners. During this period, I also undertook certifications on CSA, CAD and a few micro certifications as required for our work. Now, as a Lead Developer, I manage a qualified team of ServiceNow developers at my company.

How did you get involved with the ServiceNow Community?

When we started our ServiceNow practice at my company, we started working with our partners in Europe on various projects. As part of our practices, I have been part of various developer communities over the years. So, it was natural to join the ServiceNow community once we started building the team.

You're very generous with your time. What inspired you to start answering in addition to asking?

I enjoy helping people. Also, the points system in ServiceNow and the perks for MVP motivate me to spend more time in the community.

Where do you spend your time in the community? And, how else do you participate?
I mostly spend time in the developer community. In general, my community participation includes time to create articles and share knowledge and learnings. Then, I also spend time on the ServiceNow Slack channel apart from answering questions on the community forums.

What would you say to encourage your peers to participate more?
Contributing to the community helps you to learn more about ServiceNow which internally helps you to grow in your career. So, it’s a win win.

What advice would you give to someone who wanted a nudge to start contributing?
Contributing to the community should come naturally and if you really want to grow in your career, then contributing to the community plays a very important role.

Do you have any stand-out / memorable experiences with ServiceNow?

Becoming a MVP in 2019 was a very pleasing and memorable experience, and it demonstrated that it was worth the time and effort.

Do you have a favorite piece of content in the community?

I love going through the articles posted by the community. There is a lot to learn from fellow practitioners and peers.

Any other interesting tidbits, stories, hobbies you'd like to share?
I enjoy movies and I am a fan of the WWE wrestling series. So, when I am not working or I am taking a break from my family time, I indulge in my interests. I also am an avid Tennis fan, and occasionally take to the game as well.

Thank you, Asif!
