Meet Community MVP...

Omkar Mone

Hello Omkar So tell us a little on how you got started in your career and when was ServiceNow introduced to you?

imageI completed my Masters in Comp. Science and was in search of a job. That is when I got to know about the opening for ServiceNow developer in DxSherpa. After getting to learn about ServiceNow from some of my senior confidants, I found this technology very interesting and this is how my journey started.

What do you do now? What is your favorite part of using the ServiceNow?

I am working as a Consultant in DxSherpa technologies, which is a Premier Partner of ServiceNow. I love the simplicity and simultaneously the way things can be customized making it is easy for the deliverables and meeting the expectations of the customers. I love working on Service Portal as, being an AngularJS platform, gives a lot of scope to develop new ideas.

How did your career evolve?

Starting as a fresher, I was very new to the corporate traditions and its work. DxSherpa gave me very good exposure to ServiceNow. DxSherpa, being a growing organization, it wouldn't be wrong to say that I grew along with the organization. May it be personal or professional evolvement; this company will be a major stepping-stone in my career in every way.

find_real_file.pngHow did you get involved with the ServiceNow Community?

In the early stages of my ServiceNow career, as things were not that clear to what should be implemented and how. That is when I started finding answers on Community which gave me a boost to participate in all the good work that is happening around the platform and help everyone else with the same. Also, it gives a high level idea of what actually is being implement all over the world.

You're very generous with your time. What inspired you to start answering in addition to asking?

I had decided that I should at least answer 1 question on community daily, later I was awarded 2019 Leader which gave me more encouragement and confidence to work towards it and be the part of the Elite group which I did this year becoming an MVP.

How do you work the community into your day?

I mostly try to answer questions from each forum not anything to be specific.

Where do you spend your time in the community?

I help my fellow colleagues working on other projects across the organization and encourage them to engage themselves in community to increase the depth of their knowledge.

What would you say to encourage your peers to participate more?

I do not think it is a need to say anything, they know the outcome and all the benefits.

What advice would you give to someone who wanted a nudge to start contributing?

Start today, there is no tomorrow.

Any other advice to share with those just starting on their journey with ServiceNow?

I believe, not just in ServiceNow, may it be any technology, self-learning and exploring will be the key to get an early hands-on on the technology. You ought to be excited as well as greedy at the same time, to learn more. You should strike a balance between hard work and smart work according to the need of the hour.

Do you have any stand-out / memorable experiences with ServiceNow?

No as such, was going to have by participating in Knowledge20, as being a MVP I had a pass, but unfortunately, COVID came early.

Any other interesting tidbits, stories, hobbies you'd like to share?

Along with being an IT professional, I am also a football lover. I play very frequently and I personally think it is a great way of keeping your body in motion after a long day of work.

Thank you, Omkar!
