Good day, everyone! Phil, here. It's a pleasure to meet you!
I'm a Senior Technical Trainer with ServiceNow, and this is my third time in the classroom at Knowledge. My expectation for the course is that we learn techniques to whip up some cool applications in ServiceNow--and, of course, that we have fun doing so!
I'm not a big movie buff, but I still have something like thirty-two (yes, 32) game consoles. I have a mild karaoke problem, too. (No, I shall not demonstrate.)
I look forward to our time learning Application Development Fundamentals!

My name is Mark Jensen and I work for Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York.
I am the primary system administrator for our instance and by default the primary developer. I do have prior experience in both (normal) system administration and software development.
We have used ServiceNow for a bit more than a year now. We have done a bit of minor development work but would like to do quite a bit more.
I hope that this class will let me get the scattered fragments of experience I've got with the platform into a coherent structure.
My favorite movie is "Spirited Away" -- I'm a Miyazaki fan and fan of anime and manga (translated) in general.
I am rather shy, though not unfriendly -- do not expect me to initiate a conversation, but will happily respond if approached.

Hello, my name is Jeff. I am with Great West Casualty who does trucking insurance based out of South Sioux City, NE.
I have about 3 1/2 years of experience with ServiceNow on a part-time basis. Our IT department is small and so we wear multiple hats. I was in our infrastructure team maintaining the servers in the company, but moved to our newly formed QA team and luckily was able to keep my role in our ServiceNow instance. So my experience is in servers, troubleshooting, and the stuff that goes with it. I am not a developer, but would love to become efficient with development in ServiceNow.
I love a lot of movies and my favorites change all of the time, but I love movies like 300, Troy, and of course the newer superhero movies.
I hope to become more proficient with developing applications within ServiceNow and possibly offer better ways for the company to improve processes using the ServiceNow platform.

I'm Michael Smith, full-time lecturer at Georgia Tech.
In one of my courses, my students use ServiceNow as a prototyping tool. Some have gone on to get certified.
I'm here to learn the current state of SN education from the horse so I can make sure my students get that as a base, at least.
My favorite motion picture is "Apollo 13" because I remember it.
Alas, the last computer game I played was Sid Meiers's "CivNet" in about 1998 during grad school where I let off steam by conquering the world, which was easier than finishing a dissertation.

Hi, I'm Russell Jefford, Product Owner for ServiceNow in Ensono (Managed Service Provider), based in Oxford, UK.
We implemented SN with the help of a consultancy in Nov 2017 and are currently solely use the ITSM functionality and undertaking ongoing customisations in house.
I've worked in IT for over 23 years, the last 15 being involved with the implementation and customisation of various systems (Intranet, CRM, ERP) but seemed to have accidentally specialised in ticketing systems, including Remedy, Supportworks and now SN.
First computer was a ZX81, then Sinclair Spectrum, then took a break and came back to a 386 PC running Win 3.1.
In a former life, I studied Chemistry 🙂
Too many films to mention, but I like some of the classics such as El Cid and The Fall of the Roman Empire as well as more recent ones such as Fight Club (wait, is that a classic now?).
I'm looking for a quick overview of the dev environment in ServiceNow, so I can map my existing knowledge from other apps across, as well as looking for areas/functionality unique to the application.

Hi, I'm Philip and I provide reporting and performance analytics development for TD Bank. I've worked in the industry for 5 years this July.
I recently received my system admin certificaton and am hoping to do the same with the app dev. cert as well.
My favorite movie is Braveheart, though that's a pretty tough question to be fair... Blade Runner (I know) is easily a close second.

Hello everyone! My name is Nancy Todd and I am a senior software engineer working at NASA Johnson Space Center. I just started working with ServiceNow about 4 months ago when I transferred to Mission Control after 11 years as a DBA and software developer in Astromaterials Curation, the department in charge of NASA's moon rocks and other extraterrestrial samples.
I'm hoping to learn more about the ServiceNow Scoped App development while at the conference because our team is in charge of custom ServiceNow applications that were created as global apps and we would like to move towards using scoped applications instead. Looking forward to not having to deal with those pesky update sets!
It's hard for me to pick just one favorite movie but, if I have to, I would say it's Blade Runner (the original, not the so-so sequel!). I am a big scifi fan and I love Philip Dick's stories, but this is certainly my favorite.

Hi John,
yes, global can be accessed.
you will have to get used to put the global. prefix in front of some objects (ex. script includes), though.
The cross scope access will also be a topic in this class.

You will be seeing in the class that some steps are not performed in the Studio: these are usually global objects. Just keep an eye on it.
