Where do these come from? Is this just demo data?

Are customers able to subscribe to lists of hardware models from ServiceNow similar to what is offered for hardware model normalization? Or, should customers manage all of their own models then cross-check against the normalization?

@CurtisSmithNC the screenshot you included is indeed demo data if this came from the lab instance.  Models can be created and related to imported models.  Also, any new model info that you put in will normalize with the content services (if chosen to do so.)  We will actually go over this a bit later in class, but here is also a link to the documentation for you to reference.

Does the normalization service only transfer our model information back to ServiceNow if we have provided normalization definitions?

@CurtisSmithNC Yes.  You only send model information back to ServiceNow if you "opt in" to the service.  You still can download the data even if you opt out.  Only the definitions are sent and no identifying information is provided as per our privacy policy.

Will activating the CSDM plugin(s) that provide the "Lifecycle Stage" and "Lifecycle Status" fields also put those fields on the Asset form view? Additionally, are values between the 2 fields bidirectionally synchronized?

@sneidich - The answer to your first question is no. Only the model record is changed, not the asset record. Not sure about the second question. @stevenschuler - can you answer, please?

Wanted to confirm we'll receive exam vouchers at the end of the course, if so could we use this to take the exam during K24?

@Jason Yeo1 Absolutely!  You should have a voucher by the end of the class.  As mentioned earlier in class, the instructor will set the completion before end of class,  which in turn will trigger an email notification for your course completion status as well as exam voucher information.  This should be immediate, but if for some reason you DO NOT Receive any notification, it is advised that you login to NowLearning and submit a case explaining (Make sure to reference class ID# CLASS0070300).  If you have any questions, please see one of us (Jason, Steve, Miriam, or Ron) at the end of class.

Hi everyone! It was really fun having you in class. Here's a link to the 3-hour Get Started with Reports course in Now Learning that I mentioned. You need to sign in to your Now Learning account to access this course, but it's free and it's great! There's also a short video, Getting Started with Reports, on the YouTube ServiceNow channel.

Wow, way to go @Jason Yeo1! Thank you so much for attending our class at Knowledge. Well done on passing the exam. Now you're in a great position to take the lead in your HAM projects!

I am a ServiceNow user that has requirements for a very tight loop for hardware asset management to reduce technical debt. I don't know what features our corporate team has deployed, so I want to find out how it is done from scratch.

Can someone please post the "Getting Started with Reports" online course that was discussed in class?

I'm not sure if someone asked about this during our class, but the question initially came from a student attending Software Asset Management Fundamentals next door (he stopped by during a break). I replied a couple of weeks ago but forgot to link to it here.
