A new update from ServiceNow Training and Certification Team

The New York release is just around the corner! There are some updates we want you to be aware of prior to release.

New York Delta exams

The New York delta exam window is from September 19, 2019 through December 18, 2019. Be sure to pass your exam(s) on or before December 18, 2019. Delta exams are only 10 questions or less - and you can take them on your own time - no testing center needed.

This time around, you’ll be completing your delta exams in Now Learning, our brand new training platform for all things ServiceNow launching on September 4th! We’re putting on the final touches and are excited to share the future of learning with ServiceNow! We will give you instructions on how to access Now Learning and your delta exams in the next communication.

If you have any questions, take a look at our Certification Program FAQ or contact us directly.

Thank you for being a part of the ServiceNow Certified Professional community.

Hi,

I am scheduled to take the CSA main exam this 22nd of November, does it mean I need to take the delta exam afterwards once I pass it because the delta exam will expire this 18th of December?

Thank you!

Knaka

I assume that you will not need to take the delta exam as your exam date will be after New York releases.  There is verbiage in the FAQ that states the following:

Note that you do not need to take the Delta exam for the same release during which you passed your main exam. (For example: if you passed your main exam after the Madrid release, then you do not need to take the Madrid Delta exam as you are already current.)

The other reason why I think this, is that it would be highly unreasonable for someone to take an exam near the delta close date (ex: 17th of December) and then be expected to take a Delta exam in a one day period.

Lastly, once you take your exam (and pass), you can confirm whether you will need to take the delta or not via your profile on ServiceNow learning (it's currently under your Webassessor profile but I believe that is changing to ServiceNow learning).  If it shows up to date, then you will not need to take the Delta.

Good luck on your exam!

Hi,

No. Your CSA exam will be on New York, thus you don't need to take the delta exam. Delta means change. There is no change from your exam to the overall content needed as a Sys Admin. We, current certified Sys Admins, will need to take the delta because this is a change in features for us that we need to study and be in the know about.

Your first delta will be after the next release on or around Feb/Mar 2020.

Please mark reply as Helpful if so.

Thanks!

Once The General Availability of a version of servicenow instance comes up , All the scheduled servicenow exams will be conucted on the newly released version of servicenow , so post the release of any version  , the exam that you would be about to give is of the latest release.

So you will be certified on the latest release.

However if you have given an exam in the past before GA of new version of servicenow platform comes up , every new version brings in some new changes and being a certified individual , its recommended to be yourself updated with the new features, and thus servicenow has this delta thing set up so that even the past certified individuals should stay updated with new features in the current release.

As you are giving in NY version, you will be already certified in New York , for others who gave in the past they will be on Madrid and being Newyork version became GA its expected every one should be certified in latest release so delta for us (Which is an exam on only new features/changes introduced.

Hope that helps

Thanks,

Siva

Hi,

I have appeared CSA exam today and passed. But now in late evening got the mail that my certificate is on risk. Can anyone help me to understand why it is like that. Also I am not able to get my certificate on portal. But at webassessor it showing and have status "AT_RISK".

Thanks,

Pankaj

So you took the exam today? Which was most likely on Madrid not New York. Now New York is out and so you have to take the delta exam, would be my guess. If you would have waited 1 more day and/or researched it just a tab more, haha, you would have taken the latest exam.

To confirm if your certification is really at risk or not (and not just an accidental email from SN), please login to your web assessor servicenow account and then click "My certifications" link at the top of the page.

Please mark reply as Helpful, if it was.

Its definetly the New York Delta Exam, i completed it myself today.

@pankaj I also got the below email even though the Exam has only been out today!

One or more of your "At Risk" certifications are now "Expired."  You have not passed the Delta maintenance exam for the current release within the 90-day Delta exam window.

In order to reinstate your certification, you will need to register for the Mainline exam via the Webassessor catalog, pay the exam registration fee, and achieve a passing score on the full, proctored exam again.

Please do not reply to this e-mail as it is automatically generated from our testing system. If you have questions please contact certification@servicenow.com.

I received the same email.  I think it must be a mistake and they meant to trigger the at risk email not the lapsed email if the delta exam window just opened today.

Oh thank God! I thought that I had messed up or something. Talk about a miniature panic attack.

I'm assuming that they meant to send out the other e-mail, stating that it is now at risk.

It would make sense for the e-mail to trigger, considering that the exams are being taken on the Now Learning Dashboard instead of Kryterion.

I don't see how to take the Delta Exams in Now Learning.  All my Certs still show a status of "current" in Now learning while at risk in webassesor and other systems.  I don't see the delta exams in webassesor this time around. I assume this is because they are suppose to be via Now Learning.  I don't see anything in Now Learning that discusses delta exams or how to take them. At Risk emails sent also had no actual information on how to access or take the exams just that they were needed.  Anyone taken the delta's that can point me in the right direction? Thanks for any information!

I have added the webassesor more than once as it wasnt showing my certs at all.  Will I have to continue to add this email over and over with each change?   Honestly I have had numerous issues with the change over which I have been in contact with SN about.  I'll add again and see what happens!  Thanks

let me clarify... the email is in there and its been confirmed but its not updating that my certs are at risk and i have no options for delta exams. However they do show as "at risk" in webassesor. I guess I'll open another ticket.  Le Sigh

I did this last week and confirmed my email and it shows all my certs.  Since then they all moved to at risk in webassesor but not in Now Learning and I have no options for delta exams.  I deleted and readded the webassesor email to see if it will pick up.

Hi All,

Servicenow has changed the way how to delivery the Delta exam. From now on we must go to the Now Learning platform https://nowlearning.service-now.com. Meaning forget about www.webassessor.com 🙂

Once there scroll down to " Choose your role" session.

load the session until you see " New York Delta - Certiffied System Administrator".

Alternatvely check if you can go straight from this link https://nowlearning.service-now.com/lxp?id=overview&type=path&sys_id=302e3a76dbc3b3c0760a71043996190...

Good luck!

Has anybody else take the New York delta exam and there Cert still showing as At Risk.  Even thought you completed it over a week ago.

sarahakers
Tera Guru

Yes, I put in a ticket they said they are aware of the issue and are working it.  Mine are done and complete and still only show 50% on my dashboard and show at risk on webassesor.  My Certificates area shows my certs twice once as at risk and once as active with the date i finished my delta exams.

Same thing happened to me. I took 2 Deltas the day the NY Delta was available and passed both. Next day one showed as now current and the other one still at risk (Application Developer still at risk). I opened a ticket but have not heard a thing. I assume they are working it by this thread. We'll see.

Brian Lancaster
Tera Sage

I also put in a ticket.  They said it would be fixed in the next 48 hours.  However the way mine worked was that I pass it and it immediately updated my cert date to the point I was able to download it and send it to the company I work for so they can keep it on file.  Then then next day I went it and suddenly it was back to when I passed the Madrid Delta exam and said it was at Risk.

Hello @sarahakers ,same with my case, still shows 50% on my dashboard and status "At Risk".Did you get any update on the the servicenow ticket you created.I havent received any information so far.

Brian Lancaster
Tera Sage

I had gotten an email from training and certification email addresses and they said my cert would be updated withing 24 hours.  That was last Monday.  I have been checking it every day and this morning it was finally corrected.  As long as your delta exam(s) have completed next to them I would not worry about it.  They know there is an issue.

Where did you all open a ticket? HI? Email the training email?

You can open tickets in the new training portal.  Click on help in the menu.

Brian Lancaster

Just an FYI... Keep the email that you get when you create the case.  I have not found a way to get back to any created cases without having the link that is emailed to you.

I too had a similar issue. I passed the Delta on day one. It was showing at risk for 2 weeks. I addressed an email to certification@servicenow.com and issue was fixed in a week.

Note, i never received a response from them yet, but the issue got fixed.

I'll give this a shot. Not much luck with the ticket...

Hi Sara,

I'm also facing the same problem. Can you suggest me how to resolve it?

Brian Lancaster

You can open a case right on the learning portal.  Close out the alert and then click on the two line menu in the upper right.  Choose Help and open your case.
