If you are looking to import third-party data into the ServiceNow CMDB, check out our Service Graph Connector Essentials path that has two new courses covering how to import two of the more popular integrations, Jamf and Microsoft SCCM.

Service Graph Connectors, available from the ServiceNow Store, are used to import and integrate third-party data into CMDB classes and properties.

The courses on this path are designed for ServiceNow administrators and consultants who need to implement and administer Service Graph Connectors.

Learners can discover how to configure and execute transform maps, execute import schedules, decipher IRE processes that drive inserts and updates of source data in the CMDB, work with reconciliation rules and multisource CMDB, and use the Service Graph Data Visualizer.

The courses are structured in a streamlined and easy-to-follow format with informative text, interactive graphics, detailed demo videos, and knowledge checks. All videos contain closed captions. Students obtain a badge for each course that is completed within the path as well as a path completion badge.

Integrate Service Graph Connector for Microsoft SCCM

The first course in the Service Graph Connector Essentials series will teach you how to configure the connector to import Microsoft SCCM data into the ServiceNow CMDB.

The Service Graph Connector for Microsoft SCCM (SG-SCCM) imports Microsoft SCCM data into the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) application. The integration does not write to the Microsoft SCCM database but rather pulls data for computers, processors, operating systems, disks, networks, and software from the Microsoft SCCM database.

Scheduled imports bring relevant Microsoft SCCM data into the ServiceNow instance from the Microsoft SCCM database and map the data to the appropriate tables in the CMDB. Full or incremental data imports can be configured. The import is achieved leveraging the free Service Graph Connector for Microsoft SCCM, which requires a JDBC connection to the Microsoft SCCM SQL database via a MID Server.

Integrate Service Graph Connector for Jamf

The second course in this series will teach you how to configure the connector to import Jamf data into the ServiceNow CMDB.

The Service Graph Connector for Jamf (SGC-Jamf) provides a turnkey integration that imports much of this valuable data from Jamf into ServiceNow. The integration is used to sync computer and mobile device inventory (macOS and iOS hardware) and software packages (installed and in-use) to the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The data is mapped and stored in appropriate tables/classes within the ServiceNow CMDB data model so that it can be leveraged in various ServiceNow Service Management and Asset Management applications.

Learners attending this course can expect to learn how to configure and execute transform maps, execute import schedules, decipher IRE processes that drive inserts and updates of Jamf data in the CMDB, work with reconciliation rules and multisource CMDB, and use the Service Graph Data Visualizer.
