Hi Everyone,
I thought I would use this article to give you updates, references and any other resources. So please feel free to add your questions here.
There were a few questions that came out of class yesterday:
(i) References to SAIF and SIM. Up until recently our methodology was ServiceNow Implementation Methodology (SIM) with the broader context of the ServiceNow Adaptive Implementation Framework (SAIF).
As I understand it, SAIF is being retired and the methodology is just SIM.
(ii) IS the Services shared instance still used?
That’s being retired completely. Not sure on the timeline for that, since we still have resources and customers on this instance.
(iii) Is there a template of the SOW?
I have been informed that the SOW is a document designed for ServiceNow commissioned projects and thus it will need to be the partner's responsibility to develop their own templates.
Regards Darren

Scoped apps
Here is a presentation on the topic of scoped v global apps, in relation to object inheritance. I found it very helpful. The recommendation of the presenters: Scope your customisations (at least for large organisations, to reduce the complexity of customisations).

There was some discussion today as to whether we can encrypt file attachments before they get to ServiceNow. I am not aware of a capability to do this. My alternative suggestion is to save against the record (let's say Incident) a link to the file. Lets shore you have MS Sharepoint or another internal file Server. Instead of trying to sen the file to ServiceNow and encrypt in transit, why not keep the file in your infrastructure and save a hyperlink on the ServiceNow record. In that way the file is still locally held an the link will still force the user through some sort of authentication. Darren
