These are actually a prerequisite to the certification so you need to view these AND do the certificate training.

Watch all for an excellent overview of what is possible with Service Now.  Sessions 1-3 are about the user experience and sessions 4-7 about using Service Now to streamline and automate service management support.  Recommend two viewing sessions (1-4, 5-7) of about 1.5 hours each over two days as its too much for one day.

You need to do it Manually, that I attended this course..

The content is thoughtfully presented.  It would be nice to see the duration of each video off the main page.

You should be able to download the videos outside of your office and then share with your colleague.

Hello,

I am posting for an employee that reported his observation.

“Wasn't sure where to report this.  As part of my New Hire checklist and training on SABA, I was going through our public YouTube product videos and found an issue with one.  On the video "User Experience | How to Use the Knowledge Base" located here: https://youtu.be/a0gZu7FZcxI?t=244

The description typed in at timecode 4:03 shows the user entering manually coded HTML bold tags <b> around the word "flooded".  Later in the same video, the ticket is displayed several times (timecodes 4:40, 5:00, 5:40) and the word flooded is not bold.  This makes it appear the manual HTML feature doesn't work.

I think the video is publicly accessible on YouTube for anyone who searches for it.  I know it's a small flaw, but since it's publicly exposed I thought it worth mentioning.”

Thanks for any help/ suggestions/ comments

Alfonso

Thanks to you and the employee for bringing this to our attention. Good catch! You're right--that text should be bold. I don't know why it's not. There are several possible explanations, but clearly there's an inconsistency here. We probably won't re-record the video now for this issue, but we'll certainly correct it when we update the video.

These are great videos, but because they are on YouTube our client in China is unable to view them.

Has anyone found a way to solve this problem or is there another way to share them with them?

Alex A_

@Joel,  the local division of your company located in China will need to petition the Chinese Government to view the content and explain it is for job training which benefits the employees and all of China with shared knowledge.  Also make sure none of your firewalls are blocking the content or you do not have policies in place blocking "youtube".

Joel, you could always use a tool like youtube-dl-gui to save local copies of the videos to your computer, and then share the videos directly with your client.

Edit:  Just so I don't give the wrong impression here, I'm assuming that

  1. you would not be charging money directly for providing the videos,
  2. that you would only be sharing videos which are already publicly and freely available, and
  3. that your sole purpose in sharing them would be to provide educational access to these materials to assist in training an existing or potential ServiceNow customer.

This sort of sharing would likely be considered educational "fair use" under US copyright laws, and your actions would be assisting (and not harming) ServiceNow in their efforts to disseminate training materials.  I personally can't imagine ServiceNow being upset by this, but if in doubt, you could try reaching out to training@servicenow.com for formal permission.

Great content! All the videos provide an insightful overview of the capabilities of ServiceNow, definitely a good introduction before the Fundamentals training and the Administrator certification!

Hi Admin,

Looking at my Now Profile, Manage Resume, Super Badge Progress; under the Administrator, Developer, Business Process Analyst & Service Owner tabs, the very first box (or requirement) is Foundation Video Learning.

Clicking on those tabs brings you to this set of videos. Completing watching the videos *should* confirm that the learning activity has been completed and mark it as done and one step closer to achieving a *star* badge.

Looking at the comments below, it says more than once that this activity is *not* recorded against the viewer/learner.

Question: if it is not recorded as a learning activity against the viewer, how will that progress be recorded in order to progress towards achieving the badge please ? See the very first box in the screenshot below.

Thanks - Sunit

It does appear to update the badge status at servicenow.com.  However before you watch a particular video, make sure that you are logged into the community.servicenow.com website.  If not it does not appear that you will get credit for watching it if you are not logged in.

When you land on the "ServiceNow Foundations Videos" page, make sure that you are logged into the community.servicenow.com webiste (check the upper right corner for your name).  If you watch a video without being logged in I do not think it will count towards your progress.  At least that is what I experienced.

How do I track progress.  I watched several of the videos but then couldn't get back to them for a couple weeks.  I have no idea where I left off and cannot find anything on the site indicating which videos I've seen.

Unfortunately this didn't work. At least I haven't got any badgesfor watching these clips.

I am also in the same boat. I watched all the videos, after making sure I was logged in, but the system never updates my status on that first block. Since it doesn't tell you what you have and have not watched, it is impossible to see if you missed something or what? I am not sure how to fix this, and I can't waste another afternoon watching videos that talk about things I already took a class for and tested for certification for.... this is very frustrating also because it will also keep other badges from completing.

So check on the next monday ?  🙂

Great video!  Are these guided tours or are you using some other tool?

I see I could use this tool for other training videos for internal use.

Chuck Tomasi
Tera Patron

Most of these were produced using video editing software. The screen recordings were done, then enhancements made (like callouts/highlighting) in post production. A quick look of a few videos didn't appear to involve Guided Tours (the product available on platform.) If you had specific questions, reply with a link and timecode and I can probably get you more specifics.

Thanks.

It worked for me, you have to watch each video, flag the "useful" option and bookmark it. The learning platform doesn't show the progress of the watched videos until you finish them all.

Hi, there's no tracker for the videos. You just have to watched them all while being logged into the commmunity. Be sure to mark the "useful" thumbs up and bookmark each video.

It worked for me. When you finish the last one, the system updates the overall status on the learning page.

Good Luck !

Hi,

This path worked for me.

Open 2 tabs, one for the video list page, one for the video to watch.

Be sure to click on the top banner right figure to check if you are logged in.

If you don't see your name, click login.

Hi every one,

This path worked for me to complete the Admin badge.

Open 2 tabs, one for the video list page, one for the video to watch.

Be sure to click on the top banner right figure to check if you are logged in.

If you don't see your name, click login.

Watch every video of the list.

With two tabs, is easier to follow the video watched or not.

Hi all,

Just finished the videos (great content!) and thought I'd provide some helpful tips for the next person.

- You must be logged in to both Now Creators and Now Community, otherwise it won't register

- You must watch every video (I did mark a couple videos as helpful but I don't think it's required)

- Once you watch all videos, it takes a little while for the section to get marked as completed (about 15 minutes for me)

- It doesn't keep track of videos you watched so you need to track it yourself.

Hope this helps someone!

Thanks,

Ben

Hi,

Thanks to Shawn McCormick, Ben, and StehRD for the assistance and great tracking suggestions. I've listed the steps that must be completed to receive credit for your Now Creators Super Badge milestone, Increase your knowledge of ServiceNow foundations for Administrator, Developer, Business Process Analyst, and Service Owner.

  1. Log into Community
  2. Access and watch all 31 foundation videos

If you've watched all the videos but haven't received credit, please reach out to the Now Creators team at nowcreators@servicenow.com and let us know so we can work with you individually.

Tracking tips courtesy of fellow Community members after you watch each video

  • Mark the video as Helpful (my personal favorite because I can quickly tell if I viewed it)
  • Bookmark the video (I created a folder for the SN videos but do what makes sense to you)

Thanks,

Kristi from the ServiceNow Now Creators team

I just wanted to say that I was able to complete this task and got credit yesterday. The key for me was just making sure you are logged into both now creators and the learning portal as others have mentioned. I went the multiple tabs open route. Within a minute or two from watching the last night I refreshed my profile and it showed up.
