Hi! I'm Travis Bridgham and I have been developing on ServiceNow for about 6 years. One of my major focuses has been user end point management (workstations and printers) in the CMDB and my company is now turning its focus on the Asset Management side. This training is to help me get ready for when we make that a priority.

Hi Folks, Paul Porter from ESnet (Energy Science Network) at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab in Berkeley, CA. Benn administering, building and developing on the ServiceNow platform for 10 years. Hoping to get a understanding of the more detailed nuances of the cost management pieces of HAM to help us forecast out hardware refresh budgets several years out. We've been a slow progress path with Asset Mgmt to date, but have recently started on a fairly aggressive path of  continuous improvement is this area

UNCG Context: Higher Ed, 18k student enrollment,  2500 fac/staff 6000+ end user end points. Legacy of incomplete asset record creation, mandate to "track all the things with brains" (dry silicon, not wet cells)  , and to standardize procurment on TIer 1 (Base)/Tier 2 (more horsepower)/Tier 3(custom config)

 Recently launched a procurement initiative with CDW to buy Apple, Dell and Microsoft products through  CDW, with CDW doing asset tagging for us, and running an imaging sequence on Dells and will be implementing soon the first phase of CDW e-Pro solution (to ingest Advance Shipping Notices) as Asset stubs against which we will be receiving. 

Don't yet own HAM but are looking to purchase in not too distant future.

Hello everyone! Curtis Skeels from Eaton Corporation, we just learned & rolled out ServiceNow ITSM, HR, ITAM, and a few other modules last year (June for HR, Nov for the rest). I started with Change Management, but early on in our project I was moved to Asset Management. We're in the crawl stage for Asset Management, so this class is to help identify high-value features & understanding if we did something 'wrong' in our roll-out.

Struggle areas that are causing the most pain today;

1. Sourcing requests - non-centralized procurement; certain product types handled by certain teams, general stuff handled by Local IT

2. Stockrooms; global with over 1,500 locations

3. Asset Responsibilities requiring Admin (not even ham_admin or sam_admin help)

If any of these topics sound familiar whether you have advice or struggling with the same, I'd be interested in hearing about it!

Hello

I am interested in connecting with folks in a Higher Ed or related context at a similar scale. 

I am 17 months into doing end point procurement/Asset Management, with 30+ years at UNC Greensboro.  

18,000 students, 2500 fac/staff  6000+ user end point devices.

Legacy asset data is incomplete and suspect, we have not fully implemented CI creation from SCCM/JAMF data.

Mandate to "track all the things with a brain" (dry silicon, not wet gray matter).

Recently launched a procurement initiative with CDW, to have them stock Tier 1(standard Base)/Tier 2 (standard more horsepower)/Tier 3 (Custom configs).

CDW will be be asset tagging items bought, and running stocking plans on our Tier1/Tier 2 Dell configs, and imaging Dells with our SCCM task sequence.

We are launching a project to implement phase 1 of CDW's e-Pro, to ingest Advance Shipping notices to create asset stubs against which we can receive items as they arrive on campus.

We dont yet own HAM but it is on our wish list for upcoming fiscal year.

@mtsmith , Just and FYI, we tried working with CDW's ePro and our skilled integration developer was not able to get anything of substance that worked for us and CDW was not much help. Maybe it will work better for you with them stocking your tiered standards. We don't have standards where I work.
