Just curious to know like how frequently do you do the upgrade.
Do you upgrade of EACH and every release or do it early once (like Q1 or Q3- which quarter you prefer?)
Is there any recommendations from ServiceNow on this? Just curious to know how you are doing it today 🙂

We wait for the next release and then update to the previous release. Similar on how we upgrade our Windows OS. We had some issues with Rome and had to wait for a few patches to come out before we went with it. Stability vs functionality. We don't have a lot of staff to test, so we play it safe.

Hi
Recommendation from ServiceNow is Customer instance should not be ideally behind n-2 release, where n is the current version of ServiceNow supporting.
Say for example, San diego is the latest version for now, so ideally customer instance should not be before Quebec and for past couple of years this has been the recommendation from Servicenow.
Every year, ServiceNow release two new version, what we have been following is we wait for at least couple of patches to get released before we upgrade our ServiceNow instance for more stability perspective.
There are good content available on this topic on multiple forums and from ServiceNow as well:
Please go through below docs to understand more:
