I just got Academy upgraded and running on Eureka. I was wondering if anyone else in our community has upgraded yet. If so how was the new UI received? What new features do you like best? And did you have any complications upgrading?
To answer my own questions Visual Task Boards have finally brought the rest of the IT groups together. I love them! They're awesome. The upgrade went as smooth as butter, and the only hang up I noticed was that you may need to have some users clear their browser history to get the new UI to apply, but hey, when does a browser not need to be cleared right?

Working on testing the basic upgrade now, haven't touched the UI. I've had some consultants advise against the new UI . . . what about the new UI would you consider a "must have" feature (or features)?

My company loved it, as Carlo mentioned they like the more "modern" look of it as well. Some were bummed about losing custom icons, but in my own opinion it's a far simpler and more intuitive UI than the old one. I also think it just looks cleaner. I don't use the Ipad/Iphone UI yet though so I guess we will see what issues might exist there.
I have found people running older browsers may not have some supported features too. Like for instance the Visual Task Boards can't run on an IE version below 10. Perhaps this is where that recommendation came from?

Honestly, we're revisiting it now as we go through the testing ... will most likely implement it anyway. The objections seemed to largely be based on the consultants' objection to the design side of it and not the functionality.

The State of Utah went live on Eureka 8/4/2014, upgrading from Calgary, skipping Dublin. We are looking forward to implementing PPM and Asset on Eureka this fiscal year. We have not had any customer complaints about the new UI in fact there were favorable comments to the fact it was much more modern. In our testing we did find issues with mobile iPad and iPhone. The mobile iPad would not render consumables from our customization to Field Service Module. The iPhone will not allow you to create a new Incident View but then again maybe we don't know how to use this yet. This is an open Incident with SN. We also have an issue with some custom code to auto attach a document when generating a PDF. We are somewhat surprised to have our custom code not work since we skipped those updates. Regardless of the issues, it is well worth the upgrade and it was smooth and painless.
FYI, we also had a consultant suggest not implementing the new UI but could not find anything to confirm this advice. We perceived the new UI as a positive, other than the iPhone and iPad.
