Using Data Fabric to access Excel data from SharePoint Online

Hi everyone

I have an Excel file stored in SharePoint Online that contains some data. I’d like to use this data in ServiceNow to build dashboards with Performance Analytics — ideally without having to import or duplicate the data manually.

I’ve been exploring Workflow Data Fabric, which seems to provide zero-copy connectors for external data sources (SQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.).

However, I’m not sure if it can connect directly to a SharePoint Excel file or if this would require another integration method.

I also looked into the External Content Connectors, but as far as I understand, they only index documents for search purposes — not for reading or querying structured data — so that doesn’t fit my use case.

So my questions are:

  • Is there any way to use Data Fabric to access an Excel file stored in SharePoint Online as a structured data source for dashboards?
  • If not supported yet, what would be the best alternative approach to connect or sync this data with ServiceNow (for example using Microsoft Graph API, OData feed, or IntegrationHub)?

Any advice, recommendations, or examples would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
