  • A person associated with an investigative case can be put in one of several statuses based on how they have responded to the case. The following table outlines the statuses that are available for a person entity when adding that person to a case.

    Role Type Status Description
    All Active Currently involved in the investigation
    All Non-Responsive Attempts to contact have failed or party is not replying
    All Uncooperative Engaged but unwilling to assist
    All Cooperative Willing to assist or provide information
    All Unavailable Temporarily unreachable (e.g., hospitalized, deployed)
    All Cleared Determined not to be relevant or involved
    All Deceased Confirmed dead; may still be relevant
    All Duplicate Duplicate entry in the system
    All Unknown Identity not yet verified
    All Removed Removed from the case record
    All Pending Review Awaiting supervisor or legal review
    All Flagged Flagged for follow-up or special handling
    Subject Suspect Believed to be involved based on preliminary evidence
    Subject Person of Interest Not a suspect, but under consideration
    Subject Charged Formally charged in the case
    Subject Arrested Taken into custody
    Subject Convicted Found guilty via court ruling
    Subject Acquitted Found not guilty
    Subject Released Released without charges
    Subject Fugitive Has an active warrant and is at large
    Victim Reported Victim report has been filed
    Victim Verified Identity and victim status confirmed
    Victim Protected Under special protections (e.g., anonymity, relocation)
    Victim Withdrawn No longer participating in the case
    Witness Testified Has provided official testimony
    Witness Withdrew Withdrew willingness to cooperate
    Witness Recanted Changed or retracted previous statement
    Witness Anonymous Identity not disclosed (e.g., tipster or CI)
