Notably, the Australia release itself contains no new updates, changes, removals, or deprecations for AIOps LEAP. Most new features and enhancements were introduced in earlier releases.
Key Features Introduced (Xanadu and Yokohama)
- Incident Clustering and Summaries: AIOps LEAP intelligently groups IT incidents using short descriptions and assignment groups, leveraging historical data to create actionable summaries that improve decision-making and knowledge retention.
- Grouping Incidents to Create Automation Opportunities: Utilizing the ServiceNow Group Action Framework (GAF) plugin, incidents are clustered based on parameters such as work notes and resolution notes, enabling automation opportunities through these clusters.
- Automation Recommendations and Playbook Generation: Frequent issues are identified and matched with automation recommendations. LEAP generates actionable playbooks from historical data and resolution workflows, building a knowledge base that supports collaboration and continuous improvement without requiring formal playbook creation.
These features enhance operational efficiency by streamlining incident resolution and facilitating automation within ServiceNow environments.
Additional Enhancements (Zurich Release)
- Expansion of third-party AI model provider options: Google Gemini and AWS Claude were added as alternatives alongside Now LLM Service and Azure OpenAI for Now Assist applications, enriching AI capabilities within AIOps LEAP.
Activation and Installation
To activate AIOps LEAP, customers should request the application from the ServiceNow Store. Activation can be performed either via the Workspaces interface (selecting AIOps LEAP and activating through Now Assist Admin Workspace) or through the Now Assist Admin module under ITOM by selecting “Activate AIOps LEAP.”
Zurich introduced installation of Now Assist for ITOM from the ServiceNow Store as a prerequisite.

- Zurich requires Now Assist for Creator for playbook generation capabilities.
- No new browser, accessibility, or localization requirements were introduced between Xanadu and Australia.

- Automation feedback and tracking features enable pinning and customized filtering of automation opportunities and published playbooks for easier analysis.
- Customizable columns on lists help tailor views to operational needs.
- Published LEAP playbooks can be used within Statements of Work (SOW) to accelerate incident resolution.
- A value dashboard supports performance analysis and continuous enhancement of automation processes.
