Setting up BCM in the Classic Workspace
Setting up the Business Continuity Management (BCM) application for use requires configuring certain pre-requisite data.
Configuring the BCM application data helps to equip the workspace with the necessary templates for all kinds of crises. You can define elements such as items and assets, categorize impacts, set tier levels for recovery, and timeframes. BCM users can then find all the necessary, correct, and current data required to complete their tasks on the workspace.
These configurations are required to set up the business continuity workspace for different users who would be using the workspace:
- For user roles and access control limitations to the scoped BCM applications, see Components installed with Business Continuity Management.
- To configure element definitions, see Configure element definitions for Business Continuity Management.
- To configure impact categories, see Configure an impact category for Business Continuity Management.
- To configure an impact rating for an impact category, see Configure an impact rating to assess an impact category.
- To configure a recovery tier to assess an impact, see Configure recovery tier for impact assessment.
- To set up a recovery timeframe for a recovery tier, see Set up recovery timeframe for a recovery tier.
- To configure a documentation section for a plan, see Configure a documentation section for a business continuity plan.
- To configure a grid for column display, see Grid configuration for column display in BIA dependency assessment.
