Improve portal load time with asynchronous loading

    • Reduce the time employees spend waiting for the portal to load by enabling widgets to load data asynchronously. This allows widgets to display information as it becomes available, improving overall portal performance.

    Role required: sp_admin

    About this task

    By default, widgets try to load and display data simultaneously. This can cause longer load times in content-heavy portals. To improve loading speed and reduce employee wait times, select the Asynchronous option to enable widgets to display data as it becomes available, instead of waiting for all the data to load.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to All > Employee Center.
    2. Go to the following widgets, press and hold the control key, right-click the widget, and then select Instance Options.

      • My applications
      • My active items
      Note:
      The following widgets support asynchronous loading.
    3. Select the Asynchronous loading configuration option (wording can change, depending on the widget).
    4. Click Save.
